Multi-User Dungeon (Commonly named MUD and MUD1) was developed by Roy Trubshaw and Richard Bartle. The game was a Fantasy-Themed MUD released in 1978. Trubshaw named the game in tribute to an earlier MUD named Zork.

The game was a MUD, which was alike to a Text-Based Multiplayer RPG. The player could type text commands to perform actions such as moving, fighting and using items.
